Ace's 1st Birthday Party
Today Ace turned 1:) and to celebrate, he kindly brought in homemade treats from My Best Friend’s Bakery to share with all his friends. He got a cool bandana and was the star of the show all day! You can definitely tell he’s the birthday boy in all these pictures….front and center with a smile on his face!
Mac!
Here is our newest Grateful Goldens foster, Mac. He’s about a year and half old and on the smaller side…maybe 40 lbs, and probably has some chow in him (although ALL negative qualities associated with chows are virtually nonexistent in him). He is a quick learner, loves to play with other dogs and loooves attention from humans. Unfortunately Mac is heart worm positive and will...

Apologies!
Sorry for the unintentional hiatus! My camera is being worked on and I’m in the process of finding a replacement. It’s business as usual here though…gearing up for the holiday weekend! We’ve had pretty large groups each day so far this week and are almost completely book for boarding this weekend. It’ll be a full house for sure! Hopefully within the next couple...
A Great Day
…for relaxing in the shade! Remember when I talked about the dogs needing a break by nap time? This is exactly what I was referring to…
Somebody's Having Fun!
Now that Moultrie is mostly recovered from being fixed, he has been spending his days in daycare; He LOVES it and today decided that Minka would be his new best friend!

Our First Pool Party!
Of course I don’t have my camera today, so excuse the cell phone pictures, but I couldn’t just not take any of the water park Tim has created in our outdoor area! We’ve got a kiddie pool and a sprinkler hooked up to the tree and the dogs are LOVING it. And something tells me this wasn’t Hallie’s first experience with a kiddie pool…

The Gulf Coast Oil Spill - How We Can Help
In order to do our part to help the crisis in the Gulf, we are using something we definitely have enough of: DOG FUR! And you can help, too.
A Matter of Trust (www.matteroftrust.org) is a great organization that teams up with other groups dedicated to specific causes and uses man-made and natural surplus materials that can help in a variety of ways. By boxing up all of the excess dog...
Boxers Loving Boxers
Many boxer owners will tell you that, in groups of dogs, boxers tend to gravitate towards other boxers. Maybe this is because they recognize themselves in the other dog, or maybe their energies just match up. Whether you believe it or not, today is an argument in favor of this theory! Yogi, Bailey, and Becker loved each other today…and although I didn’t get any pictures, we have a...
Meet Moultrie
Our latest Grateful Golden foster! He is as much a teddy bear as a dog can be….cuddly and affectionate and so so sweet, even after just having been neutered. He’s being cat-tested as we speak…fingers crossed!
Update: Moultrie passed his cat test! Marcia, the volunteer who conducted the test, said he was even a little timid.
Olivia's Happy Ending
Remember the 3 puppies? Well since I last talked about them on here, Ox has been adopted and Opie and has moved to a foster home to get used to family life (he is still up for adoption though!); the most exciting result of our fostering them, however, is that Olivia has been adopted by our employee Nicole! Her name is now Marlo and she has proven to be quite the little ham! She sits, shakes,...
Some Friendly Competition
Camden and Tug are both the type of dog who always have a really serious, this-is-no-laughing-matter look on their face, so to see them sharing a ball for 20 minutes, halfway trying to steal it from the other and halfway just enjoying the game was HILARIOUS to say the least. They even stayed relatively still and let me take about 15 pictures until I got one from the perfect angle!
Oliver and Teddy...Great Boarders!
Teddy (left) and Oliver are brothers who have been here for a few days and are just the sweetest most well-behaved, happy guys. They just want hugs and pets!
Rocco's First Day
This big boy came in ready to play and made plenty of new friends already! He especially loved Camden, Camo, and Tug…here are some pics of Tug and him spending some energy.

Naptime!
Another FAQ: How in the world do we get the dogs to sleep during the day??
Answer:
We actually don’t usually have to do anything…we’ve found that 9 out of 10 dogs will have a natural lull in energy mid-day, a lot like humans! So usually for around 90 minutes, the dogs all come inside and rest while the boarders and other dogs get some time outside. However, there are always...
Polly
Meet Polly….an extremely social and lively lab mix who did GREAT during her first day of daycare today!
Here’s Polly and Polly:
Getting a lick from Yogi…
And playing with her look-a-like, Violet:
Henry X2
Henry and Henry were going crazy today playing with each other! They must know they share a name.
30 minutes later…a little tired, but still playing:
Puppy Intro!
Meet Bailey! She is a sweet and sassy boxer puppy who is seriously LOVING her first day of daycare. She’s a great combination of lovable and fearless, enthusiastically approaching every dog and then running over to cuddle for a few minutes.
Mowgli :)
Look at this sweet little man! This is our new resident, Mowgli (or at least that’s what we’ve begun calling him). He is 4 months old and has found his way here via a devoted dog rescuer who took him in, vaccinated him, and had been caring for him for 6 weeks before he came here. Coming to the Wag Factory, Mowgli is severely unsocialized with humans and has extreme fear of...
More Close-Ups!
Because I love them so much. Here we have Ella, Olivia, Minka, and Moxie.
The Introduction Process
People are always asking (with good reason) how we introduce new dogs to daycare. While our process is not as formal as a step by step checklist, we do have a tried and true method of integrating a new member into the group. To illustrate, I documented today’s introduction of Cash, a lab who will be staying with us for a few days. Although you cannot see any staff in the photos, there are...
Proof of Shadiness
This is what we see when we look up! A perfect summer canopy.
Confession
So even though we all know what hard work it is to train our dogs to stop jumping up, every now and then, we (I) can’t help but give in and allow a happy dog to leap up and give me a big, happy, tongue-flapping bear hug. It’s not my fault you have such lovable pups! How could anyone resist a face like Petey’s or Huckleberry’s??
Birthday Girls!
Viola and Sadie have both just turned 1! Here is Viola with her delicious looking birthday cake over the weekend, and because I wasn’t able to get a birthday picture of Sadie today, here is our favorite Sadie photo from a couple of months ago.
Squishy Faces
Here are some irresistibly cute pictures of Weeza and Amelia, two English bulldogs who are staying and playing with us this week.
Happy Birthday Daisy!!
Doesn’t she look like she knows it’s her birthday? Princess of the Picnic Table, AND she brought treats for all her friends (only those that are allowed treats, don’t worry).
Ries!
….short for Riesling, pronounced Reese. This little guy came in for boarding yesterday and was so nervous to be around new people and new dogs. When we got here this morning, though, he was ready to play; maybe when I left last night the others told him he didn’t have to be scared. Sitting in everyone’s lap, hopping around with the others, he is fitting in perfectly!
Partners In Crime!
Henry and Teak!
Teak does tricks for Henry…

It’s a fun friendship to watch!
